Compilation of extracts from five of Sam Hanna's craft films. In 'Brush Making', a craftsman dips bristles in boiling pitch, binds them and inserts them into the brush head. 'Charcoal Burning' sees Jack and Bill Allonby building a stack of timber in Grizedale Forest to prepare a traditional charcoal burn. In 'Corn Dolly Maker' Bob Scott weaves a corn dolly at his home near Preston. 'Oat Cake Making' shows Mr & Mrs Slater preparing and 'throwing' oat cakes, and Edith Hanna serving them to children. Finally in 'Tadley Rake Maker', Ernest Sims creates a Hampshire rake using traditional tools. |
