Synopsis

B18/1: Frank Mellor visits a grouse-rearing farm and interviews the owner and gamekeeper Bob Foster about the issues involved with the intensive rearing of pheasants and their introduction to the wild. Mellor then attends a field sports Game Fair at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, where the upper classes browse gunsmiths' stalls and shooting birds displays. Spectators watch spaniels retrieving dummies from a river and a long-distance fly-catcher fishing display. Mellor joins Sir William Mather's grouse shoot with gamekeeper Gordon Woodhead. Finally Mellor visits a trout farmer who shows him his trout tanks and outdoor pools and describes their rearing and feeding. 19m50s
