Synopsis

Programme (transmission print) about a Greater Manchester Police Force training centre. A group of trainee policemen and women are seen marching and performing drills on a parade ground, receiving training in lifesaving in a swimming pool and observing a police officer arresting a mock criminal. Existing officers are shown at a refresher course and many of them speak honestly about the main problems and challenges the Police Force faces, incidents they've encountered in their careers, the problem of reoffending juveniles and the inadequacy of many prison sentences (no picture at head).
