Synopsis

B446/3: News report showing police divers in the water-filled Eccleston quarry near Chorley, where drug baron Martin Christopher Johnstone's handless body was found by amateur scuba divers in October 15, 1979. American and ex-drug dealer Benjamin Bennett speaks of violence in the drug world and David Davies reports on the drug syndicate members who fled to Australia and the nine accused appearing at Chorley Magistrates Court. The man in charge of the hunt, Detective Superintendent Ray Rimmer, Deputy Head of Lancashire CID, is interviewed about the case. Includes stills of Leila Barclay, whose house was a base for the syndicate; Andrew Maher, who shot Johnstone; drug dealer Harry Lewis; and Julie Hew, Karen Suych and Alison Dine, girlfriends of ringleader Terry Sinclair; Barbara Pilkington, wife of Andrew Maher. 17m04s
