Synopsis

Insert shows action at the Merseyside Fire Brigade Training School. Recruits attend lectures and take part in training exercises involving rescuing a man from a crashed car and a dummy from a smoke-filled building. A senior fireman is interviewed about what qualities make a good fireman. (Start of film features trims of fires at the Summerland Leisure Complex in Douglas on the Isle of Man [2 August 1973] and the Woolworth's Store at Piccadilly in Manchester [8 May 1979]).
