Synopsis

Programme on entertainer Ken Dodd, featuring stills and footage of Dodd throughout his career, accompanied by music. Opens with opening title sequence for the series "The Times of Their Lives". We see footage of Dodd's home town, Knotty Ash, including his old primary school, Knotty Ash Parish Church and Village Community Centre. Footage is interspersed with various stills of Dodd performing as an adult and child entertainer. The Royal British Legion Sydney Frankenberg Branch in Knotty Ash is shown with people playing bingo and drinking. Queues are seen outside the London Palladium Theatre and we see Dodd preparing in his dressing room and then on stage. There are stills of him with celebrities and VIPs including Harold Wilson, the Queen and Frankie Vaughn. Film closes with "The Times of Their Lives" end title sequence.
