Synopsis

B594/1: A male presenter reports from St George's Hall on Liverpool's problem buildings and there are shots of derelict housing in Liverpool. Meanwhile, presenter Frank Mellor visits the desirable village of Formby. Mellor interviews Formby artist Muriel Sibley, retired clerk John Breeze and newsagent Alan Roberts about how the village has changed due to its growing population. Formby asparagus farmer John Jennings and his wife are shown cutting and bundling asparagus. Sand dunes and woods at Formby Point are seen. Toxteth is then visited, where residents facing rehousing in flats have formed a housing co-operative and successfully secured a site for their new housing. Milkman Billy Floyd and other members of the campaign are interviewed. 17m25s
