Synopsis |
Programme three in the series. Programme from a series involving Stuart Hall interviewing various collectors. Opens with title sequence for the series "The Hall Collection". There are various shots of steam engines and interviews with steam enthusiasts, including Joe Greenwood, owner of a model railway. Hall visits Levens Hall, Kendal where stationary condensing steam engine owner Oliver Baggart is interviewed. Various traction engines, steam rollers, tractors and steam organs are shown at Lancashire Traction Engine Rally in Burtonwood near Warrington. A restored 1919 traction engine owned by George Howard from Southport is shown. Engine restorer Jack Johnson and prizewinner John F. Webster are interviewed and there are shots of Webster's 1900 showman's caravan. Hall then visits a restored 1928 luxury pullman coach owned by James Morris. Engine restorer Dr Peter Beet is interviewed at Steam Town, Carnforth, there are shots of a 'Black Five' engine and a female steam enthusiast is interviewed. |
