Synopsis |
B404/1: BBC Reporter Michael Delahaye reports on the motor industry in the North West, which is under more pressure than ever before. Includes aerial and interior shots of Ford's Halewood factory, which began manufacturing cars in March 1963. There are shots of Ford workers assembling car parts and Ford spokesman, Terry Beckett, is briefly interviewed about the current depression in the car component industry. Rolls Royce cars are shown being test-driven abroad and a Rolls Royce spokesman is interviewed whilst driving about exports to Japan.
