Synopsis |
Programme about a scheme (devised by Pip Hodgson?) to get young people to do voluntary work with Wirral's fire, hospital, police services and council departments. Opens with fire engines responding to emergency calls at Birkenhead Fire Station. There are interviews with Deputy Chief Fire Officer Milo, Norman Kidd, Secretary of North Wirral Hospital Management Committee and Paul Connors, Training Officer of Wallasey County Borough Council. There are shots of Wallasey Town Hall, the Mersey Ferry and River Mersey. Peter Blackley, Youth Worker from Wallasey and Chief Superintendent Cliff Hounsel, of the Wallasey Division of Cheshire Constabulary, both talk positively about the scheme. Finally, the presenter talks to pupils at Hilbre County Secondary School in West Kirby. The programme ends with a static "Free Speech!" title. |
