Synopsis

Fourth programme in the series Lancashire Lads. A series of light-hearted Lancashire rhymes written by writer and dialect poet Benjamin Brierley from Failsworth (1825-1896) spoken with a strong Lancashire accent together with various images that represent Lancashire: a potato pie being served, home brew beer being brewed, general views of Daisy Nook country park. The exterior of the Ben Brierley pub in Moston, Manchester, is shown. The interior of a local pub is shown with people in traditional Lancashire dress. Children are shown on a merry-go-round, a fresh fish market stall is seen and there are shots of stereotypical "Northern" elderly men and women.
