Synopsis

Programme following the very successful Glossop School Brass Band, which includes footage of them rehearsing and performing various pieces. Features interviews with several members of the band including cornet players Gary Cuts and Christine Lowe, euphonium player Sarah Molt, trombonist Tommy Higginbottom and twins Michael and Gary Hadfield. The driving force behind the band - woodwork and metalwork teacher Jack Fletcher - is shown conducting whilst the youngsters perform. Senior Master of the School, Jack Holden, speaks about the band's success in winning Radio Manchester's 'Blow by Blow' competition four times. Ex-members David Williams, Martin French and David Marsden are shown playing together. Includes general views of Glossop and Glossop School.
