Synopsis |
Incomplete programme celebrating the pioneering spirit of industrialists in the North West. A male presenter is shown at the Bridgewater Canal in Worsley describing the significance of the Duke of Bridgewater and James Brindley's contributions to canal engineering. The same presenter then highlights the significance of Liverpool Road Railway Station in Manchester, one of the first passenger railway stations, and Kitty Wilkinson, who started the idea of public washing facilities. A 'transfer technique' of dyeing carpets is shown and a man describes his company's patented belt walkway.
