Synopsis

Ken Dodd presents this humorous tongue-in-cheek look at Widnes as a holiday resort and 'gateway to the world'. He highlights the beautiful scenery, balmy climate and clean, fresh air ('where even the seagulls have smokers cough'). There are general views of Widnes, including the Runcorn Bridge, River Mersey, St Luke's Church in Farnworth, Widnes Technical College and Widnes Rugby League team's ground at Norton Park.
