Synopsis

Comedian Ken Dodd is shown at Birchcroft Residential Home in Manchester, which is run by the Richmond Fellowship and provides a 'half-way house' for people who have suffered mental breakdowns. He appeals for donations from viewers, as £35,000 is needed to set up a similar residential home in Liverpool. There are shots of Birchcroft residents cooking and relaxing in a sitting room. A house in Liverpool which is earmarked for the scheme is shown being renovated and cleaned.
