Synopsis |
Film insert relating to various memorials, monuments, castles and towers in the North West. Frank Mellor describes the lighthouse at Hoad Hill in Ulverston, Pennington Lodge near Newby Bridge, Skirton Bridge in Lancaster, Hornby Castle in the Lune Valley, Mow Cop Castle near Congleton, the Anderton Boat Lift near Northwich, Downham Manor near Pendle Hill, Wildboarclough near Macclesfield, and Lancaster's Ashton Memorial. He goes to a marmalade-making cottage industry at Baslow in Derbyshire and interviews Mrs Cherry Horn about the high demand for her marmalade. Mellor then visits the Lyth Valley Rabbit and Mole Catchers and Cess Walling, mole catcher, discusses the damage that moles and rabbits can cause. |
