Synopsis

Programme made to mark the fortieth anniversary of World War Two, focusing on the North West and the role of the RAF. Opens with title sequence for the series "North West at War". Almost forty years after the Battle of Britain of 1940 the men of wartime RAF meet again (likely to be at a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Woodford Aerodrome, Stockport). There are numerous shots of spitfires, hurricanes and Lancaster bombers on the runway, taking off, flying overhead and doing aerobatics.
