Synopsis |
BBC presenter Keith Macklin makes an appeal to viewers from the part-built St. Ann's Hospice in Heald Green, Cheshire. Macklin appeals for donations towards the £250,000 cost of building work taking place there in preparation for its official opening in June 1971. Dr. William Greer, the former Bishop of Manchester and now the Chairman of the St. Ann's Hospice Committee, is interviewed about how the hospice will provide palliative care for people with life-threatening illnesses and support for their carers. Includes shots of builders working and nurses seeing to patients on hospital wards (part-mute). |
