Synopsis

Programme five in the series, opens with titles for The Hall Collection. Stuart Hall visits the Joseph Mayer Collection at the Liverpool Museum and speaks to Curator Dorothy Slow, who describes various jewellery items in the Mayer collection. A young girl is shown wearing authentic Victorian dresses, petticoats, corsets, bustles and coats whilst walking in a Victorian house and gardens (mute). Includes shots of sketches of people in Victorian dress.
