Synopsis |
Programme about 1960s pop star and Liverpool icon Gerry Marsden who was in the band Gerry and the Pacemakers and his attempts to make a comeback in the early 1980s. Describes the success of beat music and Liverpool bands in the sixties. Includes footage of Gerry performing in both the sixties and present day. Marsden is interviewed with his wife Pauline at their home on Wirral about their memories of the sixties and their love of Liverpool and there are shots of shoppers in Liverpool city centre. He is shown recording his new single in a London recording studio with Record Producer Dave Martin. Songs include 'You'll Never Walk Alone', 'How do you do' and 'Ferry Cross the Mersey'. |
