Synopsis

Presenter Barry Askew interviews eighty-year-old feminist Lady Mary Stocks (1891-1975), educationist, writer and broadcaster, in her garden. Stocks discusses her activities in extending the right to vote to women, her views on broadcasting - particularly her opposition to the commercialisation of television and radio , the changing nature of the role of women and sexual permissiveness in society, the birth control clinic she set up in Salford, her career in education and the NHS and the indulgence of youths in today's society.
