Synopsis

Fifth programme in the series Lancashire Lads. A series of light-hearted rhymes about Lancashire written by Samuel Fitton, working class writer and cartoonist who lived in Lancashire. Opens with shots of Fitton's gravestone. Poems are spoken with a strong Lancashire dialect and a montage of Lancashire images is shown including the interior of a cotton mill, a man with his dog drinking outside a pub and walking on moorland, people dressed in traditional Lancashire attire drinking in a pub, young boys playing on a climbing frame and general views of terraced houses, chimneys and mills in Lancashire towns.
