Synopsis |
An art collector / picture restorer describes his quest to trace the artist behind a volume of eightenth-century illustrations he found of the Lake District. He visits many of the locations in the drawings, including Applethwaite, Armathwaite Manor, Crosthwaite and the now-closed Penrith to Keswick railway line. Includes interviews with Raymond Hebner and Keswick Museum Curator Norman Gandhi. He discovers that the artist in question is Anthony Vandyke Copley Fielding (1787-1855), who lived in Keswick. Also includes numerous shots of Fielding's drawings and shots of Crosthwaite Parsonage, Poplar Street in Keswick and general views of Threlkeld. |
