Synopsis

Sixth programme in the series Lancashire Lads. A series of light-hearted Lancashire rhymes are spoken with a strong Lancashire accent. Various images accompany the poems: a scythe cutting crops, rolling moorland, people enjoying cups of tea in a canteen, a baby chewing a teething ring, an elderly couple walking in the countryside, the interior of a cotton factory, close-ups of summer flowers, a priest preaching in a church, a tripe stall in an indoor market, men playing a game of dominoes and shots of old people's faces.
