Synopsis

Programme looking at the differences between professional rugby league and amateur rugby union, comparing St Helens, or 'The Saints', (league) with Sale (union). St Helens Rugby League Club headquarters at Knowsley Road are shown: players are seen training with coach Billy Benyon and in the changing rooms receiving their wages and there are shots of the Promotions Office and shop. Sale's headquarters at Heywood Road are also shown: players train, a committee meeting takes place and post-match celebrations take place in the clubhouse. There are interviews with St Helens Secretary Geoff Sutcliffe, Director of Fulham Colin Welland, Commentator Ray French, St Helens Chairman John Clegg, Sale player Steve Smith, Sale Captain Tony Bond, ex-Sale player Steve Roe and Sale Chairman John Nesbitt. A Sale match against Nottingham and a St Helens match against Fulham are shown.
