Synopsis |
Item tracing the contrasting fortunes of Liverpudlians Ernie Roderick and Harold Higginson, both professional boxers in the 1930s, since they retired from boxing. The world famous Roderick is interviewed at Stoneycroft power station in Liverpool, where he works as an electrician's mate and he speaks about going bankrupt after leaving boxing. The fairly unknown Higginson is interviewed at his luxurious home in Great Crosby near Liverpool and he speaks about his successful building business. Includes stills of both Roderick and Higginson boxing and shots of the Liverpool Stadium boxing ring. |
