Synopsis

John Mundy, presenter of "The Friday Show" series, presents four items on this programme, each about 7 minutes long. First he meets a group of young men who are break-dancing / street-dancing / body-popping on Market Street and King Street in Manchester, the American craze that swept the North of England. There are lengthy shots of the dancers with large crowds watching. Mundy interviews some of the dancers and there are vox-pops with passers-by about the dancers. The second item shows American Football team the Manchester Spartans training and playing against Northampton's Storm Bringers then various players are interviewed by Mundy. The third item shows Mundy at the Annual Manchester to Blackpool Veteran and Vintage Car Rally. We see the Rally started by the Mayor in Manchester, cars along the route and there are interviews with enthusiasts. There are shots of a vintage car driving along Blackpool promenade and a final cavalcade. In the the fourth item Mundy visits a medieval jousting tournament organised by Geoff and Val Winship. Mundy is dressed in a suit of armour and there are shots of men jousting on horseback and fighting with swords, axes and shields.
