Synopsis

Programme four in the series. Film opens with the presenter talking to auction vendor, Duncan Evans, of real estate firm Swetenhams of Chester. A Swetenhams auction is shown in which items are sold to bidders. The presenter interviews auctioneers. Duncan Evans' father, Dennis Evans, senior partner for Swetenhams, talks about false bidding by dealers. The landlord of Georgian properties in Chester talks about the difficulties involved in maintaining them. Tom McGarver is shown dating and pricing antique silverware. John Palmer is seen at the Swetenhams office and valuing items in the 'Moss Rose' pub. Duncan Evans is seen leaving his cottage in the Cheshire countryside. The film ends with interior shots of the Swetenhams office, including close-ups of properties in the Chester area.
