Synopsis |
Programme in which presenter Ian Nairn looks at the landscape, buildings and past and present development along the Liverpool end of the River Mersey and laments the fact that the River Mersey landscape is not made more of. There are extensive views of the River Mersey, Pier Head, Liver Building and Albert Dock. Also shown are Runcorn Bridge and houses overlooking the Mersey at Grassendale Estate. Nairn complains about the Mersey's inaccessibility for the public. Nairn takes a trip on the Mersey Ferry and laments the derelict fairground rides at New Brighton. A redevelopment scheme at Albert Dock is mentioned and Nairn presses for the revitalisation of New Brighton. |
