Synopsis

Extracts from a programme about Liverpool Football Club's famous stand at Anfield called the 'Spion Kop'. Liverpool fans (or 'Kopites') try to describe the unique atmosphere in the Kop and the lack of trouble there and there are shots of fans' faces in the terraces. A Reverend at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral is interviewed about regularly attending matches and a man writes a song for the fans to sing at Wembley. Manager Bill Shankly is awarded the Manager of the Month. Police are shown overseeing crowds at a match. Children at a street party celebrate FA Cup final day on 4th May 1974. The team tour the city in an open topped bus through streets lined with fans and player Phil Thompson declares Liverpool fans as the most dedicated in the world.
