Synopsis |
B450/1: David Davies provides a commentary to this look at local news operations in the North West. The main news stories - traffic accidents caused by fog and Merseyside Police's new headquarters - are followed throughout the course of a day at both BBC Television and BBC Radio in Manchester and Liverpool. Scenes at BBC Television include: the 'Nationwide' television studio and gallery, Stuart Hall presenting 'Look North', the 'Look North' and 'Home Ground' production teams and journalists preparing for the evening's programmes, film being processed in the Production Department and John Mundy on air saying goodnight to viewers. Also includes editors editing film for regional weekly programmes and planning meetings for 'Champion Brass' and 'Home Ground'. Scenes at BBC Radio in Manchester include: general activity in the radio newsroom showing staff at typewriters and on telephones and Derrina Brown reading the news on air. |
