Synopsis

B35/1: Programme about Sir Howard John Davies MBE (1916-1979), who was a successful businessman, Director General of the Confederation of British Industry in the 1960s and Member of Parliament for Knutsford between 1970 and 1979. Begins with opening title sequence for "The Times of Their Lives". There is a brief shot of nurses on a hospital ward and a residential street - St Georges Avenue, (town?). There is footage of the Confederation of British Industry building in London and stills of Davies throughout his career. Davies' country house is shown (location?) and we see him with his wife, a toddler and a young boy in the garden. Closes with "The Times of Their Lives" end title sequence. 10m29s
