Synopsis

Programme on the popular recreation area of the Longdendale Valley in the Peak District. Presenter Frank Mellor describes the Valley's water system, its freight rail line between Woodhead and Mottram and the conflict between recreation and environment. Hollingworth farmer Jack Bower is interviewed about the problems public access to his land creates. The Longdendale Amenity Society are shown planting trees and member Bill Johnson and Chairman Tom Craig are interviewed. Broadbottom resident Joyce Powell speaks about conservation issues.
