Synopsis

Programme on an annual long-distance sponsored walk which raises money for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) and takes place at Aintree Racecourse. Organiser Joan Gregory and participants Jim Radcliffe, 75 from Wigan (who has been taking part for eighteen years) and Dick Crawshaw (who has broken the world record for long-distance walking), are interviewed. Nessie Shankly, widow of former-Liverpool FC manager Bill Shankly, awards trophies to Tom Benson of Preston and Bill Devine from Liverpool. Includes shots of participants walking around the course.
