Synopsis

The Barr Soft Drinks Factory (in Atherton near Leigh) is featured during a national glass bottle shortage, which meant the factory had to reduce their flavour range. The presenter interviews a manager there about the reasons for the shortage which he gives as the shift from returnable bottles to the non-returnable, no-deposit bottle. He mentions a similar shortage in the drinks industry of cans. There are general views of the interior of the factory, including glass bottles on the production line, workers filling crates and Barrs lorries loaded with bottles. There are shots of glass bottles of Tizer and Strike Cola. (Part mute)
