Synopsis

Sems to be a transmission print about Tootal Fashions at Newton Bank Works in Hyde which describes Tootal's method of supplying the African market with their traditional printed fabrics. Models are shown wearing various dresses in African designs. The processes of wax printing, fabric steaming and block printing by hand are demonstrated by staff. Peter Jackson, Tootals Sales Manager for Africa is interviewed about the preference of the African market for hand-made rather than mass-produced fabric prints. Some old printed designs are shown and a lady is interviewed about the dresses' appeal to European women.
