Synopsis

A Children in Need appeal from 1981. David Davies reports on two beneficiaries of last year's appeal that still need funding: a horseriding school in Bolton and the Beacon School (in Skelmersdale?) for children with learning difficulties. Children with learning difficulties are shown riding horses and some helpers are interviewed about how much they enjoy it. Children with learning difficulties are then shown in the Beacon School in a Home Economics lesson: there are shots of them cooking, laying tables, knitting, using a hairdryer and pouring tea. A teacher is interviewed about the life skills they gain.
