Synopsis |
A female BBC presenter interviews the Bishop of Liverpool David Sheppard, who was Bishop between 1975 and 1997 in his sitting room about problems facing Liverpool such as inner city decay and unemployment. The Bishop speaks about the strong sense of solidarity and community in Liverpool and the need to keep people living in inner city areas. He also talks about being Chairman of the Manpower Services Commission Area Board and the move from the old Youth Opportunity Programmes (YOPs) to Youth Training Schemes (YTS), which place more emphasis on training that will aid employment. There are shots at the start of derelict warehouses in Liverpool. |
