A group of men take a trip onboard the fishing boat the Charles Maciver from Preston Docks to Anglesey and back again. After leaving the docks fishermen haul in their catch and pass various other ships. They then return to Anglesey, this time in colour.

Family members and friends, adults and children and the occasional dog, are seen in the house and garden, and out on the street, playing, gardening or just larking around. Mrs Gleave is seen scrubbing her front doorstep. The reel also includes brief scenes at Lake Windermere, with boats including the the MV Swan of Barrow.

Children are seen playing in the river, before everybody has a picnic at Brock Mill. The second section shows the 11th Lytham St Anne's Boy Scouts 1950 Summer Camp at Langdale in the Lake District. The scouts are seen setting up camp, digging holes, chopping wood, cooking and playing football.

During a family holiday to Portmeirion in Wales, the family visit the beach and go for walks. A mother and her new-born baby David can be seen leaving Grosvenor Nursing Home and arriving home. In November 1952, friends and family gather at St. Paul's Church in Heaton Moor for David's christening. Back at home, mother gives David a bath and they later spend time in the garden together.
