On another occasion, the group travels to the Fell Hotel in Burnsall, near Grassington and continues on to Ripon and Harrogate, stopping from time to time to enjoy a beer by the roadside.

New mother Ruby Hanna holds her baby son Ian, as does grandmother Edith who places him in a cot at the foot of the bed. Mothers sit up in their hospital beds as a nurse makes them cups of tea and the matron visits. At home, the baby is held by members of the family before Edith Hanna bathes him next to the fireplace. IN THE SERVICE OF YOUTH 1950/1 BLACKPOOL BOYS' CLUB

This film promotes the benefits of being a member of the Blackpool Boys' Club. The film opens with scenes of a boy aimlessly wandering the streets until he stumbles upon the Blackpool Boys' Club, and then we see all that the club has to offer. The 'junior' and 'senior boys' have separate activities, they include boxing, snooker, gymnastics, football, table tennis, drawing, painting and watching films. The juniors visit Morecambe with a group of visiting Austrian children and the seniors go to Windemere. We also see them playing cricket and football matches against other youth clubs. The film ends with scenes from a management committee meeting where all of these activities are planned.
