Police officers assemble for the visit of Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary. Uniformed officers, police dogs, women officers, drivers and motorcyclists are inspected by HMI and the Mayor. A squad of beat officers then marches in formation in an exercise yard, and there are scenes inside a court-room.

At Southport, Princess Margaret inspects nurses and cadets in a sports arena and gives out awards - similar activities take place at Belle Vue, with processions and prize givings. There is also a sequence showing cadets on an outing to Llandudno, including a boat trip, and another showing a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
