Decorated cars and lorries, horse-drawn floats, brass and kazoo bands and people in fancy dress make their way through Sale town centre in the local carnival, and the Carnival Queen lays a wreath on the war memorial, with a film cameraman at the roadside recording the event.

Men working with oxen ploughing the earth and pulling carts then the men cutting wooden stakes and putting them into bundles. Men removing rocks from a cart then a man breaking a large rock with a hammer The film ends with a carpenter planing wood followed by a herd of oxen crossing a river.

Scenes from the Tyrol. There are shots of the mountainous scenery and mountain villages, and scenes of the local people going about their lives and of children dancing and playing for the camera. There are scenes of rural working life such as oxen pulling loaded carts, boys feeding hens, and fields being ploughed by ploughs pulled by oxen. We also see a sculptor's workshop where the sculptor works on religious statues.
