Compilation reel of family footage, including a holiday in Wales with a carnival procession at Rhosneigr; a motorcycle rider returning from the Isle of Man TT races being greeted in Liverpool, and then posing with his trophies and with members of the Healey family; millworkers waiting for their train at Heywood station and then enjoying the fun at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The reel concludes with scenes from a family trip to London, taking in Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London and one of its ravens.

THE ROYAL SHOW HARROGATE

The Duke of York arrives at the Royal Show at Harrogate in an open topped Rolls Royce. Large crowds wander around the livestock enclosures and various trade stands displaying farm machinery. Entries for the show jumping competition are seen warming up and a group of farmers parade their prize bulls in front of a crowd of spectators and judges.

Opens with views of the Hindley and Haighton families skating on a frozen lake at Foulridge Reservoir, near Colne. Also scenes in a village square, possibly Whalley, of a man throwing something at two others who are sat in the stocks. People playing tennis at the Hindley family home, Moorlands near Blacko. General views across a cricket pitch of the village beyond. Ends with views of a lake, possibly Windermere in the Lake District.

Construction scenes showing the building of Broadway Pharmacy in Broughton from July to November 1928, including worker mixing asphalt mixing for the roof, fixing timber structure on the front of shop and the unloading of plate glass from a lorry. Continues with children playing in a back garden with toys, skipping and riding on a tricycle. General streetscenes show cars, buses and cyclists along and a car pulling into an undercover garage (to fill up with petrol ?).

A circus procession, which includes George Formby, is seen in Blackpool collecting money for the local hospital. Brief views of the trams, beach and promenade are followed by scenes of the lion-taming and clown acts at Blackpool Circus. There are views of some of the circus animals - including baby tigers - and the film ends with brief scenes of men putting up the main circus tent pole.

The film opens with scenes of men skimming stones across the lake at Derwentwater. The camera then pans around so we can see the surrounding scenery and the boats on the lake. We see hikers making their way down a scree slope.

Parkinson children (John and Daphne?) play in the back garden of a house with a toy trailer, and holding hands wih their mother. The children are later seen on a beach with buckets and spades, as their mother sits on a rug knitting. Interior shots show children playing around a Christmas tree, looking at decorations and gathering round a male relative as he produces a toy mouse from a bag. Footage includes family members wearing hats and coats walking in the grounds of a country house, and a young girl and boy (John and Daphne?) riding on a tricycle.
 
 
 
THE "HOMERIC" CRUISE TO THE WEST INDIES

Scenes from a cruise on the RMS Homeric showing a visit to Martinique showing local children on the streets and swimming in the sea. Footage aboard the ship includes shots of people swimming and doing aquatic sports in the pool. A brief sequence shows street scenes in Haiti. Continues with a visit to Nassau as musicians are seen playing at 'Dirty Dicks Cabaret Club' and members of the cruise party boarding a glass bottomed boat. Further scenes show visits to a Cuban farm near Havana, a trip down the Panama Canal and shots of Trinidadians aboard rowing boats as seen from the Homeric cruise liner. Scenes show local people using a pickaxe and walking upon the asphalt Pitch Lake. Ends with a visit to Madeira, including shots of the ship coming in to harbour, street scenes ad a man being carried in a hammock.
