[Two Rufflette Adverts]

Two adverts for Rufflette Ltd. 1) A yelling sergeant-major introduces the advantages of Rufflette curtains - which are in this instance a garish red. 2) The advert, narrated by Keth Barron, shows how by using Rufflette curtain products, a child can assemble pleated curtains faster than an experienced curtain maker (personified here by an old woman).

Footage of various day trips - seeing rabbits, chickens and wallabies, and having a picnic at Heaton Park, walking in the Delamere Forest, and visiting a river valley near Glossop. Other trips show the Hess Bank Shore Bird Sanctuary, with birdwatchers on the sands with binoculars, and views of the landscape at Tandle Hill Country Park in Oldham. The film ends with shots of the SS Great Britain in dock at Bristol, and assorted wildfowl at the RSPB bird sanctuary at Slimbridge.

After shots of flowers and streams in the Lake District, there are scenes after a heavy snowfall in a suburban garden and street. A visit to Tatton Park includes views inside a glasshouse and of a Japanese garden with pagoda and distinctive bridge. The film ends with a trip to Capesthorne Hall near Macclesfield in Cheshire, with views of its parks and gardens, and a shot of the hall itself.

A man mows the lawn while two women relax in deckchairs. They then tidy up the borders and water the flowers. The films ends with shots of the family walking down an unopened section of the new M602 motorway.

A compilation of scenes from the Hopwood family. We see the family celebrating Christmas at home. A man and two girls play Twister in the living room while two women prepare food in the kitchen. All of the rooms in the house are filmed, some have been stripped ready to be decorated and a lady flips through a book of wallpaper samples. There are wedding scenes, an older couple get married and we see them as they leave the church. We see the children playing in a playground, and the family relaxing on deckchairs in the garden. We see the family in a busy restaurant, there is a birthday cake on the table and they light the candles. We see a family holiday to Devon, we see them enjoying themselves on the beach at Woolacombe Sands, and in Ilfracombe where they stay at the Runnacleave Hotel.

We then see Margaret Shepherd's wedding at St. John's Church, Bollington.The guests arrive and then the bridesmaids and the bride.The film ends with the wedding party coming out of the church, the brides veil is blown in the wind and the vicar laughingly straightens it for her.

We see the floats parked up including the Black and White Minstrels, The Cod War and a stand for the Macclesfield Silk Queen. We then see Knowsley Safari Park, the film is shot from a moving vehicle and we see various animals. We then see the family having a picnic at a table in the park. We see scenes from Southport Sea front. The family play and eat candy floss and ice creams. They go on fairground rides and then we see scenes shot outside the Scarisbrick Hotel. There follow scenes from Chester Zoo, we see visitors walking round the park and different types of animals and birds. We then see the children playing a game of tennis in the garden with table tennis bats. There is a shot of a fishing boat, and then we see Blackpool by night. We see the town lit up by night, the tower, trams and illuminations.

This film opens with scenes from the Southport - St. Helens Bus Parade. We see many different types of buses lined up on the seafront and then they form a parade. We also see other old vehicles including lorries and vans. At Crich Tramway Museum we see people looking around and there are shots of a wide variety of trams. There are scenes from the journey of a traction engine being driven by road along with the regular traffic to Reddish Hall in Cheshire. The film ends with shots of people riding miniature railways in various locations.
