Scenes from the 1978 Shaw Festival - various themed floats are driven down the centre of Shaw (including an octopus, superheroes, Dr Who, international costume, Noah's Ark) and a soapbox derby. There are then scenes of police dogs being put through their paces. There are more floats, vintage cars, and a series of cars with large model airplanes strapped to their roofs, followed by cheerleaders and crowds of schoolchildren.

The Sealed Knot recreate the Siege of Hoghton Tower near Blackburn, a battle during the English Civil War. The Roundheads and Cavaliers are clearly distinguishable, and there are re-enacted battles, sword fights and deaths.

After shots of Paris, the students are seen in various chemical factories and laboratories of companies like Loreal and ICI in Paris, Colgate Palmolive in Liege, and Orogil in Le Havre. The students are seen in language classes and relaxing, while one is observed on a placement closer to home - at Manchester Steel Ltd.
