Prior to the ceremony two women at Greenbank Day Nursery are seen hanging a banner over a fence - it reads 'Greenbank Day Nursery Welcomes Our New Neighbours'. Children at the nursery are seen waving, a microphone is seen being set up. Continues with footage of a small crowd gathered outside the house. Sir Frank Pearson , Chairman of the Central Lancashire Development Corporation (now known as English Partnerships), is seen making a speech. Mr McGuiness, Chairman of the Plungington Trades Association also makes a speech and presents some flowers and wine to Mr and Mrs Nightingale (who are moving into the flat). They are seen being photographed both outside and inside the flat.

Footage of the last night of the Thompson contract print works on Withy Grove in Manchester. Workers are seen drinking, cheering defiantly, and distributing pornographic magazines. One man is in fancy dress, and another receives a chorus of 'Happy Birthday'. The final section of the film shows an event held for the workers in a club, where union reps rail against Robert Maxwell (whose actions closed the plant) and the national unions, and praises the local union branch.
