Mr and Mrs Preston on holiday in Blackpool. Includes shots of the promenade and beach. Trams are seen travelling along the rail section between Bispham and Fleetwood. People board and alight from the tram at various stops along the line. The rest of the film focuses on Manchester streetscenes - including shots of a power station, swing bridge and a steam train departing from a station. Interior shots of Stockport Infirmary. Includes footage of the new Sykes Ward opened in 1932. A doctor uses a portable x-ray plant on a male patient in the ward. Scenes of the Violet Ray Department shows a group of children, wearing goggles, receiving 'Sunlight Treatment'. A nurse is seen applying a plaster cast to a girl's wrist and a young child receives physiotherapy. The film also features behind-the-scenes shots of the hospital laundry room and kitchens. Concludes with shots of the egg collection service in operation around Stockport and district schools, which was set up in aid of the infirmary. Members of the Preston family on holiday in the Isle of Man. Various locations around the island are visited - including Douglas, Derby Castle and Onchan Head. At Groudle Glen, people are seen having a ride along a miniature railway and a zoo keeper is filmed throwing fish to a hungry sea lion in its concrete enclosure. Further scenes include close up shots of the Laxey Wheel in motion and a manx cat. Concludes with footage of the seafront at Ramsey.

Men from the RAF and Royal Navy serving in Burma send messages home to their loved ones in and around the Manchester area. The film opens in a camp outside a war-damaged ‘Talbot House’ in which airmen take turns to deliver their messages straight to camera. Further callers appear in an overgrown ‘monastery garden’, in front of a bridge, and on a beach. The last three men walk away from the camera towards the sea and wave as a voiceover says ‘cheerio... to your boys in Burma’.
