Description |
The record of this civic and community event includes shots of the flags and decorations adorning Carlisle town centre; Princess Margaret and civic dignitaries reviewing soldiers while the watching crowds wave Union Jacks, and later going on a walkabout through the streets. Local people are seen wearing costume from different periods in the town’s long history, including that of Romans, Vikings, and Victorians. The second part of the film is events on the pageant field, where children put on a dancing display and events from the town’s history are re-enacted. |
