Description |
The film uses trick photography to make Manchester Wheelers Club members appear and disappear on a hillside, and there is also a mock duel. Cliff Lamb's 1935 12 hour record attempt starting at the Pack Horse Hotel is featured, as is cycle track racing with J Parkes winning the handicap and "The Ten." A poster advertises the Manchester Wheelers 12 Hour Classic on Sunday 19th September 1937, also showing footage of the event itself through Cherry Lane and Whitchurch and outside the Swan Hotel. Norman Nichols is filmed on his bicycle from a car and there are shots of marshalls directing the riders - a herd of cows crosses the road. There is a tandem participating in the event. |
