Description |
A record of events held in Burnley and District in celebration of the Queen's Silver Jubilee. After rooftop views of Burnley we see the organising committee at Burnley Town Hall followed by a parade through the town and a service at St Peters church. Next we have a concert at the high school for girls by the Simmons College Chorale from Boston USA, an art exhibition and the Jubilee Tattoo at Townley Hall Park which features various funfair rides and display teams on the show ground. After the Jubilee Bonfire we have nice scenes of 4 street parties. The surrounding villages of Cliviger, Worsthorne and Hadgate have their own Jubilee parades with fancy dress and decorated floats as well as sports events and dog shows. An amateur production of 'The Arcadians' held at Townley Park is next followed by the Northern Youth Championship Band Contest. |
